Ajay Devgn is perhaps the only actor in Bollywood to have never performed at an event or awards show. That's about to change now, as he has agreed to shake a leg for an awards show to be televised on a national TV channel.
Till now, Ajay had maintained he'd never perform at an award show. In fact, he has been very vocal about his disdain for actors who do so, so why the change of heart now? A source close to the actor says, "Ajay actually refused this show twice when the channel approached him. They came back to him a third time and requested him to at least listen to the concept. When he did, he liked it very much and agreed to perform."
The Singham actor was offered a fat sum to do the show. Post his success, Ajay has become very popular with the masses and organisers are willing to pay him any amount to perform.
For the act, Ajay will mouth off dialogues from various films, dance and also do a mix of stunts. The act will be divided into three parts, with each part representing a regional dance form. Special Chau dancers from Eastern India will be flown in for the same. His outfits will represent various regions of India and rehearsals start from November 15.
Ajay confirms, "The concept excited me and that's why I said yes." Does this mean that we will get to see more of his performances at shows and other events? "It depends on the concept. The director of this act has designed it in a very unique manner and that's the reason I'm doing it."
