Release date fixation continues to drive B'wood

Like animals marking their territory Bollywood stars' are taking their obsession for release dates to giddy limits.
Of course it all started with Salman Khan who made Eid of 2009, 2010 and 2011 count with Wanted, Dabangg and Bodyguard.
Ajay Devgn took over the fortnight before Ramzan with Once Upon A Time in Mumbai and Singham. Next year he has blocked July 6 for Bol Bachchan.
Not to be outdone, Akshay Kumar always wants the first big summer release to be his.
On Septemebr 30 2011, Eros International announced the release date of Akshay's Housefull 2 on 5th April 2012. Audiences can look forward to the first big summer release next year with the much anticipated comic caper directed by Sajid
Khan,'' says their official press release. Akshay has also chosen June 15, 2012 for his Rowdy Rathore directed by Prabhudeva.
Now everyone knows that Salman is coming with Ek Tha Tiger on June 1, 2012, the first big releases post IPL. In 2011 he brought Ready in the same period and it worked. So Akki is maintaining a safe distance of a fortnight for the Salman mania to recede before he puts his foot out. As for Aamir, since he has now given his Republic Day weekend to Hrithik for Agneepath, he is said to be scouting for a new lucky date.
Earlier Aamir and Christmas (Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini and 3-Idiots) were synonymous. This year he has given SRK the Christmas period for Don-2.
Lets see which new date on the calendar Aamir marks as his own. Yes actors are now get proprietary about the calendar too.
