Even before the release of Priyadarshan's Malayalam film Arabiyum Ottakkavum P Madhavan Nairum, the director is already planning its Bollywood version with Ajay Devgn in the lead.

Priyan has just completed filming the Malayalam movie, which apart from marking the director's return to Mollywood after seven years, will also see Mohanlal-Mukesh-Priyadarshan team up for the comic entertainer.

The movie, which is mostly shot in Abu Dhabi, humorously narrates the story of NRIs with extensive scenes with the desert as the background, says its producer Ashok Kumar.

Interestingly, this September 3rd also marked the 33rd year since the trio of Mohanlal, Priyan and Kumar entered filmdom.

Kumar recalls that it was in 1978, when the three were pre-degree second year students, that they "spontaneously" decided to make their first movie together.

"We were discussing at the Indian Coffee House in Thiruvananthapuram when we suddenly decided to make a film. That's what led to Thiranottam, which was Lal's debut as an actor, Priyan's as a scriptwriter and mine as its director," says Kumar.

Similarly, in 2011, when the friends got together, they decided to do another movie but only the scenario had changed. "This time, we were at a five-star hotel in Dubai having dinner when Priyan came out with the plan," he adds.

Stating that the film was just made to tighten their friendship, Kumar describes it as a comedy and a musical satire mixed together. It is of the same mould as the Lal-Priyan evergreen hit Kilukkam, he adds.

The movie has also Shakti Kapoor playing the title role of an Arab and has Bhavana and Laxmi Rai playing the female leads. Laxmi Rai and Shakti Kapoor are expected to reprise their roles for the Bollywood version as well.

The Malayalam version is expected to hit theatres by November 1st week while the release of the Hindi version is still unknown as Priyan already has Tezz, starring Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Mohanlal, lined up for mid-November release.

It must be recalled that Priyan has pioneered in adapting Mollywood hits for the B'town audience. Some of his latest such ventures are Akshay Kumar-starrers De Dana Dan from his Malayalam hit Vettom and Khatta Meetta from his Vellanakalude Naadu.
