As against reports in tabloids, Ajay Devgn has flatly denied being a part of the sequel of 'Phool Aur Kaante' costarring Sonakshi Sinha.
Recent reports in a leading daily suggested that Ajay Devgn will be seen in the sequel of the film with which he debuted in Bollywood - Phool Aur Kaante . The 1991 film directed by Kuku Kohli and starring Ajay Devgn and Madhoo was an instant hit.
As per the tabloid report, the producer of Phool Aur Kaante , Dinesh Patel was planning a sequel. While Ajay Devgn will be retained from the original, Madhoo will be replaced with Sonakshi Sinha. Also, while there wasn't any confirmation, the report hinted that Ajay Devgn's present favourite director Rohit Shetty would direct the sequel. Interestingly Rohit Shetty started his film career as an assistant director with Phool Aur Kaante .
However Ajay Devgn's official spokesperson has clearly denied the news. "Talks of such a project have never taken place. There is no such project in discussion and all stories with regards to this film are untrue", confirmed the spokesperson.
It seems like this was yet another attempt by a wannabe film producer to gain some undue mileage out of a Bollywood star's successful spate at the box-office.
